Bursa Malaysia Recoups Some Of Its Losses To Close Slightly Higher

As investors began to analyse the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) 2021-2025, late purchasing in selected heavyweights has helped to lift the Bursa Malaysia from the negative region, allowing it to finish marginally higher today, according to dealers.

When trading ended at 5 p.m, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) had gained 0.99 of a point or 0.06 percent, to 1,533.05, compared to its previous close of 1,532.06.

The index, which opened 0.83 of a point higher at 1,532.89, remained in a narrow range between 1,526.14 and 1,533.51 throughout the majority of the day, moving between 1,526.14 and 1,533.51.

Market breadth, on the other hand, was negative, with decliners outnumbering gainers by a margin of 587 to 424, while 439 stocks were unchanged, 863 remained untraded, and 16 others were suspended.

In contrast to Friday’s 4.78 billion units for RM3.34 billion, turnover dipped to 4.38 billion units worth RM2.98 billion on Monday.
