Plantation, Oil, and Gas Stocks Propel the KLCI to a Near One-month High

Bursa Malaysia closed on a strong note on Wednesday, with the benchmark index closing at a nearly one-month high due to persistent buying momentum for plantation and oil and gas stocks amid increased optimism about a global economic rebound.

The benchmark FBM KLCI increased 29.0 points, or 1.9 percent, to settle at 1,559.42, up from 1,530.42 at Tuesday’s close.

The index, which opened 0.95 point higher at 1,531.37, remained positive throughout the day, with an intraday low of 1,531.13.
